This is a grant funded position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Attend HBCD meetings at both consortium and local levels, and contribute progress reports, concerns, and other related business during meetings.
- Answer emails and phone calls related to HBCD Study recruitment, scheduling appointments, and retention.
- Conduct regular inventory of lab supplies, equipment, and other necessary items to run the study protocols. Complete inventory of study supplies and report to Project Director when necessary, items are needed and manage against a strict timeline to account for shipping, backordering, and expiration dates of certain supplies.
- Meet with the Project Director regularly to provide progress updates, share ideas and plan for next steps.
- Lead retention efforts by organizing personalized mailers for participants, coordinate annual events for research participants and their families to attend to share study results, and other retention efforts implemented throughout the project.
- Purchasing responsibilities on the grant including obtaining a PCard and maintaining compliance with University policies.
- Recruit research participants for the study at local OBGYN Clinics, community events, and other community partner agencies.
- Build positive working relationships and communicate with community partners regarding recruitment and study progress.
- Act as the primary scheduler for all study visits by communicating with research participants to schedule study visits within the participants availability, including confirmation, reminders, sending specific information regarding directions to the research facility, what to bring/expect, and answer any research questions participants may have. Assist with scheduling participants for appointments using a variety of methods including phone calls, text messages, emails, social media messages, etc. and to maintain contact with participants between visits. This includes training on the Ripple software and ensuring all research assistants keep up-to-date records on participants.
- Be knowledgeable in every research component of HBCD so participant questions and concerns may be accurately addressed.
- Facilities – coordinate with departments within the Hardesty Center for Clinical Research and Neuroscience and the Hardesty Biomedical Imaging Center to schedule space, maintain compliance, and ensure successful business practices for all research and clinical work to continue without interruption.
- Supervise research staff during data collection appointments and provide feedback as necessary.
- Communicate with staff regarding expectations with scheduling and planning for research appointments.
- General oversight of staff performance and accountability for expectations.
- Assist Project Director with team building, training, and communication.
- Ensure the laboratory is prepared for experiments (maintain inventories, maintain sterile conditions as required).
- Collection of biosamples including parental and child samples of blood, urine, saliva, stool, and nails.
- Assist with the screening and obtaining consent of study participants.
- Learn study platforms such as Ripple to track participation, store contact information and other personal information necessary for communication around scheduling and retention; and LORIS for de-identified data entry including questionnaire data and other data reports related to EEG and MRI data acquisition.
- Be skilled in working with infants, toddlers, young children, and their families to provide support while the family is onsite for study visits. This may include supporting the parent during an MRI scan, managing the
- Process study compensation payments and thank you letters to subjects upon completion of study activities. Assist with post-study activities, as needed.

Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, Cognitive Science, Education or related field is required or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years of previous experience working in an infant and/or child development lab and collecting data with infants and children is necessary
- Some nights and weekend work is required
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and exceptional time-management skills is necessary
- Experience with data entry, data coding, and (possibly) data analyses is necessary
- Exceptional communication skills including a compassionate and warm communication style
- Fine attention to detail and ability to navigate complex protocols
- Ability to resolve issues in a timely manner and ensure smooth data collection appointments
- Ability to navigate various data collection platforms and project management programs such as Ripple, ASANA, REDCap, and others that may be presented by the National Consortium
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Education or related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
