Who we are looking for
Our Global Markets, Corporate Systems and Enterprise Data Services function (GMCD), is vital to State Street and is the key enabler for our business to deliver data and insights to our clients. We’re driving the company’s digital transformation and expanding business capabilities using industry best practices and advanced technologies such as cloud, artificial intelligence and robotics process automation. We are looking for an experienced IT Risk professional to help maintain and mature our Technology Risk and Regulatory Control program. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IT Risk, Regulatory, Audit, and Issue remediation, pro-active mindset and strong analytical skills.
What you will be responsible for:
Key responsibilities include:
- Hands on Risk & Regulatory coordination of all IT related audits, supporting the auditees with any necessary pre-audit preparation, full engagement during audit fieldwork, and engagement throughout
- Candidate will be expected to pro-actively partner with central Risk & Regulatory teams across GTS to ensure that GMCD is aware of and has action plans to meet all IT Risk & Regulatory deadlines
- Emphasis on ensuring that any audit findings are factually accurate, presented with the proper context, and that remediation plan language follows a “SMART” model.
- Candidates will be expected to professionally challenge the audit team, clarify controls, flag prior coverage areas to avoid duplication, speak to inherent and residual risk of potential issues, etc.
- Perform detailed review of risk & reg finding closure packages prior to submission to audit, including ongoing training and education of issue owners with the objective of minimizing the required amount of review over time.
- Assist in audit issue reporting to senior and executive management, including evaluation of overall remediation progress, and escalation of any issues requiring attention.
- Provide advice, as a Control SME, on risk and control perspectives associated with issue remediation activities.
- Proactively collaborate with Technology teams and risk and control stakeholders across the lines of defence, both globally and regionally
- Lead and advise on Technology Risk issues governance, oversight and maturity initiatives
- Manages, mentors and sets performance objectives for a team of people
- Ensures that the team’s work products consistently meet quality expectations and educates on the importance of high quality deliverables
- Assist with driving a culture of risk and control management, transparency, and accountability
- Keeps up to date on relevant policy, standards and regulatory requirements

- Candidate has strong IT risk and regulatory experience, ideally performing actual audits or minimally having performed the audit assurance function in a prior role.

- Proactive mindset, with a natural preference to work on risk actions before they become issues
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to network across teams globally.
- Aptitude for learning new and complex environments, processes, and technologies
- Excellent written and spoken communication & collaboration skills
- Self-learning and training to ensure skills and knowledge are in line with responsibilities
- Working knowledge of IT frameworks such as NIST, ISO, COBIT, ITIL a plus
- Strong MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint skills
- Experience with IT GRC platforms (Archer)
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Candidate has a minimum of 8+ years of experience across IT Audit, IT Risk, audit or technology operations
- Professional designation a plus (e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC)
