OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of the Wash House Super Operator is to be trained to know all process jobs in the Wash house. The Wash House Super Operator role will be trained in the following positions: Raw Sugar Operator, Wash house Operator, Sweetland Press Operator and Earth Systems Operator. They will work a coverage schedule and fill in for vacations, call outs, sick leave, STD and temporary vacancies for the roles they have been trained for. They will only be required to operate one job at a time; they will not cover multiple vacancies in the same day. The Raw Sugar Operator is responsible for shed operations and the movement of raw sugar into the process. They operate heavy equipment to make available space in the shed; utilizing pay loaders, dozers and skid-steers. The Wash House Operator is responsible for the conveying, mingling, spinning and melting of raw sugar. The control the speed at which the refinery operates. They take samples routinely for laboratory analysis. The Sweetland Press Operator monitors the carbonitation process and filtration process. The operator will monitor lime density and make up, pH of liquor streams, carbon dioxide gas flow; all critical aspects of carbonitation. The operator will monitor press performance and flow, test turbidity and work with tailors to return presses to service. The Earth System Operator operates spent calcium carbonate filtration processes. They will de-sweeten this “mud” to recover sucrose
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe work environment, complete all required training and be PPE compliant at all times
- Maintain quality product, complete all required training and be GMP compliant at all times
- Maintain a clean work area
- Monitor processes via visual confirmation and utilizing HMI desktop stations
- Take routine samples for quality testing; performing limited quality tests in control room labs
- Troubleshoot equipment, if downtime malfunction is beyond operator qualifications, will notify supervisor and maintenance counterparts
WORK EXPERIENCES
- Requires 1-2 years of prior experience working/training in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of Process Technician (PTECH) program/degree is preferred
