MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continuously optimize & implement the Nexteer production system standards
  • Oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Define divisional manufacturing operations focus priorities & work collaboratively with other functions to achieve site goals
  • Leverage expertise from global operations benchmarks and provide guidance to the US operations team
  • Lead teams to implement improvements to achieve manufacturing cost, delivery and quality targets established for the division.
  • Ensure continuous improvement processes are robust in each manufacturing plant with measurable KPI defined for improvement
  • Ensure manpower planning processes are robust with initiatives identified to improve overall productivity and labor efficiency and ensure labor linearity with revenue (salary and hourly).
  • Work with Plant teams to develop Plant Strategic Plans that align to site goals & 5 year vision.
  • Teach OEE improvement techniques to the manufacturing leadership teams through continuous improvement workshops, value stream mapping, and other lean tools/training.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business
  • 15+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Experience working in a union environment strongly preferred
  • High level of analytical, financial, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with various groups of people at all levels of the organization
  • Fundamental knowledge & practice of lean manufacturing concepts
  • Experience managing, leading, and mentoring teams
  • Experience across multiple product lines/manufacturing plants
  • Certified in formal problem-solving methodology (Fast X/ Six Sigma)
  • Working knowledge of TS-16949, ISO-14001and customer quality requirements
  • Ability to think abstractly to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems
  • Strong ability to achieve high level performance by setting clear expectations and holding people accountable
  • Excellent computer skills
