Sales & Marketing Coordinator

The Underground named as one of the “Chicago’s Best Clubs” and one of the “Best Clubs for Dancing the Night Away” In partnership with the Underground Cocktail Club, paying homage to the 20’s speakeasys; is seeking a Sales and Marketing Coordinator. This is an entry level to intermediate position, great for a recent college graduate. Food and beverage background and experience is essential to be successful in this position.

Sales & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for finding new business and maximizing the event spaces to meet/exceed sales goals. Including soliciting, negotiating, and booking new/repeat business via outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, and innovating party concepts for clients as directed by leadership.
  • Responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group events related opportunities with significant revenue potential from initial inquiry, contracting, payment process, and preparing closing financials through catering software program.
  • Responds to incoming LEADS within same day.
  • Identifies, qualifies, and solicits new group/catering business to achieve personal goals and revenue goals.
  • Assesses customer needs and meets quality standards for services, including evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling entertainment and amenities.
  • Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery by managers.
  • Responsible for driving customer/guest loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer/guest experience.
  • Provides excellent service to customers to grow the account, on behalf of the company.
  • Attends weekly meetings to detail event production to management department heads.
  • Develops effective sales plans and actions for targeting new clients including social media outreach, email blasts, and other networking objectives to target new groups.
  • Works well with the Sunda culinary team & Preferred Caterer to develop offerings to create happy clients.
  • Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
