Operates various equipment. Safely drives and maneuvers equipment into position for loading and dumping material. Assists in stockpiling materials at plant and stockpile area and hauls other material as required. ( waste material overburden, etc.) Inspects vehicle’s mechanisms and monitors and maintains fluid levels. Assists mechanic with minor service and repair to equipment. Assists with the maintenance, repair and clean-up of all vehicles, as well.

Employee will be working with a variety of off road vehicles Manual Transmissions and automatic Transmissions include: Yard Loaders, Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, excavators and Stock Trucks.

General Responsibilities:

· Performs duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently observing all safety and health rules

· Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports

· Report unsafe mechanical conditions to shop foreman and supervisor Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment

· Follow established traffic patterns avoiding road hazards and other hazardous conditions

· Perform a variety of duties as directed in addition to those described herein

Qualifications:

experience on loader and/or haul truck heavy equipment preferable in a Quarry.

· Expected to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency Ability to lift components up to 50 lbs.

· Must be flexible.

· Good communication and customer service skills.

Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a track hoe/dozer operator to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

· Employee must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.

· Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds personally.

· Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.

· Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.

· The Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.

Work Environment:

· Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

· Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.

· Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
