Based in the U.S., the Proposal Lead is part of the dynamic Deal Team in charge of ensuring successful responses to business proposals in the Americas. The Proposal Lead is responsible for the management of flexible and cross-functional Pursuit Teams including Itron experts in various fields (commercial, technical, legal, financial) to produce comprehensive and winning proposals. This role includes interaction with every part of Itron and direct contact with customers and partners.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the creation and submission of responses to requests from Itron customers. These primarily include responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Collaborate with and manage a Pursuit Team made up of personnel from Sales, Product Management, Services, Legal, and other departments. Guide the development of technical and business strategies during the pursuit cycle that typically spans RFI, Demonstrations / Proof of Concept, RFP, presentation to customers, best and final and post selection activities, and up to contract signing.
  • Leverage existing standard material, including corporate information, compliance documentation and standard collateral, to create persuasive proposals
  • Coordinate review and submission of new content from SMEs (tech sales, product managers, delivery resources, etc.)
  • Prepare persuasive, customer-facing documents, including executive summaries, cover letters, no bid letters, and other standard response documents from templates.
  • Organize, manage, and collaborate on aligning technical content with commercial offers.
  • Adapt, refine, and/or develop compelling technical and commercial documents (e.g., answers to requirements, whitepapers, product overviews, etc.).
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide oversight and guidance into the quality and consistency of the end deliverable sent to customers.
  • Manage a collaborative response framework and tracking document to ensure the timely, compliant submission of responses.
  • Create and maintain a collaborative environment (e.g., SharePoint, Salesforce) for a deal pursuit.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Business background with good technical understanding.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in sales and bid management ideally in the Utility, Energy, Technology, or Defense Industry.
  • Experience in managing projects in a structured way, including technical and commercial proposal preparation.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, communication, time management. and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer orientation, analytical capabilities, proactivity, result-driven mindset.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Salesforce.
  • APMP certification would be a plus (practitioner or professional).

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. Liberty Lake, WA: The base salary is $80,000 - $160,000.
