Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Project Controls group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a PMO Project Controls Manager!

Our team works a hybrid 9x80 schedule located in Idaho Falls, Idaho with every other Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

  • The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Project Management Office (PMO) is seeking candidates for the PMO Project Controls Department Manager reporting to the INL PMO Director.
  • If you want to be part of enabling integrated nuclear and sustainable environmental energy and security research and development, then this position is for you!
  • INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for the United States Department of Energy (DOE), Offices of Nuclear Energy and Science, and the Department of Homeland Security providing much of the nuclear, sustainable environmental, and national security research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move energy and security innovation forward to deployment.
  • INL hosts a unique combination of personnel, laboratory and industrial facilities, and support infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of solutions that are changing the future carbon free energy and national security.
  • The INL PMO Project Controls (PC) Department Manager will provide direction and leadership to the PMO Project Control Analysts (PCA) to enable the successful execution of mission activities throughout the INL.
  • The PC Manager will collaborate with INL project managers and other leaders in the implementation of key INL management model principles throughout the project lifecycle – i.e., planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and assessing/improving project performance.
  • The PMO PC Manager will collaborate directly with the PMO Policy and Assurance Manager to develop, implement, and ensure compliance with INL project controls policies, procedures, and guidance throughout the laboratory, and as the project controls subject matter expert for training and development programs developed and managed by the INL PMO.
  • The PMO PC Manager will collaborate with the PC Manager(s) at the INL Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) and Advanced Test Reactor (ATR), as well as with other supported organization management to ensure consistent and professional PCA support of project planning and execution.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience or Advanced degree and 6 years of experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent project management certification
  • Must have senior level experience in project controls for complex and high-profile projects
  • Must have experience with DOE Order 413.3 requirements
  • Must have senior level knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems
  • Must have senior level knowledge of project management tools i.e., P6, COBRA, etc.
  • Must have senior level knowledge of Project Controls techniques and recommend practices
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship

Preferred Requirements:

  • Some travel to other DOE Laboratories, Washington D.C. may be required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives
  • Ability to successfully make quick decisions and meet goals while at times working to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office

Job Information

  • Salary Grade 230 ($121,212 - $206,232)
