Position responsibilities:

• This is a ten and one-half-month faculty position. Employment will begin August, 2023. Program Director responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coordinates a plan that ensures program effectiveness and program-specific accreditations
• Coordinates textbook selections, syllabi revisions, and curriculum revisions;
• Facilitates development of departmental budget(s);
• Coordinates the maintenance of property entrusted to the program;
• Interviews, recommends, orients, and evaluates faculty in the program;
• Coordinates advisory committee activities, as appropriate;
• Coordinates advisement of program majors and makes him/herself available during some of the summer for such activities;
• Coordinates off-campus course offerings
• Participates in recruitment of students; and
• Coordinates and maintains community affiliations with agencies for student internship placement sites
• Supervisory Responsibilities
  
  Additional responsibilities for this position will include the following: teach a course load of 12 hours per semester; develop and teach web classes; develop and teach hybrid or blended classes; and use instructional technology in the classroom.
  
  Other responsibilities may include participation in the general education/assessment program, on-going curriculum planning and review; professional/instructional development; participation in committee activities; student registration, advisement, recruitment, and retention activities; and other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements:

• Candidates for this position must have a minimum of a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology and a minimum of three years of associated work in the field.
• Preference will be given to those individuals with at least two years of community college teaching experience
• Preference will be given to those individuals who hold a Texas social work or counseling license to practice in the state.
• Candidates for this position must have a commitment to excellence in teaching at the community college level.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office and classroom environment.
• No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Compensation for this 10.5-month position ranges from $47,157 - Associates degree, $48,160 - Bachelors degree, $50,166 - Masters degree, $58,193 - Doctorate degree. Experience will also be credited up to 15 years. Overload and summer classes are paid separately
