POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The EHS Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Technician will report to the Air Manager and split time between our Northern Louisiana and Eastern Texas locations. The position can be officed in Minden, LA, Tyler, TX, Marshall, TX or Grand Cane, LA.
Special focus will be placed on:
- Maintains a strong bias for action and field presence.
- Provide EHS support to assigned assets, corporate programs and projects.
- Perform field visits, inspections, training, and manage projects.
- Provide guidance and assistance to field operations and operations leaders.
- Perform field visits to verify data, work with operations to attain compliance, respond to agency inquires.
- Solves problems with creative solutions to produce significant results.
- Performs primarily self-directed in area of responsibility.
- Proactively support and/or leads EHS initiatives that support the business and its themes and corporate strategies.
- Contribute to and influences team priorities as a vital team member or leader.
- Seeks the ideas and opinions of others.
- Encourages and motivate teams to accomplish results. Fosters trust
- Develops compliant LDAR protocols and strategies. Executes protocols and strategies.
- Performs LDAR in accordance with established protocols and strategies. Performs a variety of applicable data collection and evaluation techniques.
- Prepares reports of activities and maintains records as required by law and company policy and procedures.
- Works often with complex analyzers, instrumentation or equipment for gathering data and for optimizing system performance.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Perform LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) in accordance with policies and procedures following tasks at assigned natural gas/oil well sites, gathering lines, and compressor stations.
- Daily Analyzer calibration. (if applicable)
- Routine repair and maintenance of analyzers. (if applicable)
- Quarterly certification of analyzers. (if applicable)
- Coordinate LDAR field inspections/repairs with upstream and midstream operations.
- Maintain and complete monitoring schedules.
- Repair leaking components.
- Generate work requests and follow-up on LDAR maintenance repairs.
- Maintain record-keeping on monitoring and repairs.
- Maintain identification of LDAR components and applicability reviews.
- Performs other daily operation and maintenance tasks of a routine nature.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have experience in the operation of Gas Infrared Cameras
- Certified in use of Gas Infrared Cameras, or able to quickly obtain certification upon hire.
- Must have good oral and written communications skills
- Previous experience working in oil and gas preferred.
- LDAR / Fugitive Emission Monitoring, OpGal or FLIR Camera, (Method 21) with TVA 1000B and calibration experience a plus.
- Experience in use of RMLD devices for leak detection is a plus.
- Must have a valid Driver's License
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Ability to perform work in adverse weather conditions in the field (Work in hot/cold environments, inclement weather)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Will be required to work at varying heights
- Ability to climb ladders 10 ft.+, ascending/descending stairs up to ten flights or more in a day
- Ability to bend, stretch, walk and climb with up to 30 lbs+ - up to 10 hours a day on concrete/steel /gravel surfaces
- Ability to wear a full-body harness and fall arrest system in addition to up to 30 lb.+ backpack containing monitoring equipment
