Job description
AvL is looking for an Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing Engineer to be part of the AvL team to manufacture mobile satellite antennas. AvL is a fast-paced organization that is driven to be the best in the industry. The Engineer must be able to troubleshoot issues, work with others, be flexible in their assignments and do whatever is necessary to help produce the most superior products in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and support Engineering Groups.
- Development of cost-effective and consistent production processes, work instructions, manufacturing standards, quality requirements, test procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Engage with early design and prototypes to ensure that all tooling and required equipment are in place for launch.
- Problem solving skills a must.
- Manufacturing experience a must.
- Poka-yoke manufacturing processes.
· Critique and improve designs, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues.
· Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate information from drawings, purchase orders, customer specifications and other pertinent technical documents.
- Experience in wire routing and cable management.
- Experience in electronic assembly, wiring, and solder operations: ESD, PCB assembly and handling.
- Understand the principles of electricity and electrical circuits, as well as the associated risks.
- Understanding the production processes to drive equipment improvement and support potential capital procurement projects.
- Create ROI and Payback analysis of capital improvement projects.
- Focus on continuous improvement of manufacturing operations and propose modifications to improve operations.
- Analyze and redesign workstations for improved ergonomics and efficiency.
- Perform economic assessment and analysis of manufacturing alternatives.
- Deploy standardized engineering practices, processes, tools, and methods.
- Pursue operational excellence as subject matter expert.
- Drive product cost reduction and ensure targets are achieved through data driven process improvements and deployment of new technologies.
Education/Skills:
· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
· Experience with 3d CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
· Experience with 2d CAD software; Draftsight preferred (similar to Autocad)
· Experience in the satellite communication industry a plus.
