The Director of Strategic Community Engagement and Partnerships makes a meaningful impact in the communities we serve by leading the enterprise strategy, development, and ongoing oversight of strategic community programs and partnerships. Leveraging data and insights, in this role you will develop a deep understanding of the diverse markets we serve and will work alongside external partners to help address social challenges while engaging Citizens’ business lines and colleagues.

This highly visible role works alongside Citizens leaders to connect and embed philanthropy in all facets of our business. Examples include managing a portfolio of several external national strategic philanthropic partners, promoting colleague volunteerism, integrating community engagement into business activities, ensuring alignment and strong collaboration with communications, marketing and sponsorship internal partners, and identifying new and innovative ways to strengthen Citizens’ brand in our communities.

Position reports to the Head of Corporate Affairs and will manage a team responsible for the following:

• Cultivating and maintaining strong collaborative partnerships with key external and internal stakeholders (Non-profit leaders, CSR/ESG industry groups, Citizens’ leaders, BRGs, etc.)
• Utilizing data and insights to stay abreast of national and local needs and trends
• Directing the bank’s signature community initiatives (Champions in Action, Financial Literacy Month, Workforce Development Month, etc.) to ensure the greatest impact, engagement and awareness
• Serving as a highly visible and engaged ambassador, guiding and partnering with key internal teams to drive engagement and awareness of Citizens’ philanthropic efforts including communications, marketing, HR, etc.
• Overseeing development and execution of community engagement programs with a focus on measuring impact and continuous improvement
• Management of other departmental projects as needed.
• Strict adherence to corporate risk and compliance guidelines and policies to ensure favorable audit results.

Location is not a barrier for this role, yet our preference would be to have a chosen candidate with onsite capabilities in one of our corporate headquarters with preference to Johnston, RI, Providence, RI or Westwood, MA .

Experience and Skills:

• 10 years’ experience in the corporate giving, community, non-profit, media or related industries
• 10 years’ experience managing strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships
• 10 years’ experience with program / project leadership
• 5 years of experience leading teams
• Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, presentations, multi-media, social media)
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally
• Proficient in key technology skills: Microsoft Office Suite

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

The salary range for this position is $126,000 - $189,000, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
