How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As a Demand Planner you will be responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products within the hardgoods business at Airgas, Inc. The Demand Planner analyzes and adjusts system forecasts based on review of product movement including: seasonality, market trends, and probability of anticipated sales utilizing statistical algorithms. The primary focus is to improve forecast accuracy for internal and external customers.

  • Create statistical forecasts using multiple algorithms in Blue Yonder (BY) to support purchasing decisions.
  • Analyze, validate and maintain data within BY.
  • Determine best methods to adjust statistical algorithms to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor current trends in forecast error and take action to improve accuracy.
  • Identify, communicate and resolve forecast issues with Buying Center personnel and management.
  • Autonomously identify external market influences to forecast and adjust as necessary.
  • Formulate and implement various projects to identify methods of improving forecast accuracy.
  • Vendor collaboration to improve supply chain efficiencies.
  • Work with minimal supervision with latitude provided for decision making with regard to assignments, generally outlining options and working with supervisor to propose final solutions.

Are you a MATCH?

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Mathematics/Statistics, Logistics, Finance or Marketing or equivalent job experience
  • Experience applying statistical forecasting, and demand planning principles for multiple product families / multiple locations is preferred
  • 1-2 years experience with BY Demand software or related forecasting experience is desirable
  • Supply Chain and Wholesale Distribution knowledge & experience a plus
  • Customer, market, channel knowledge & experience a plus
  • Ability to identify variables driving business results (to use in analysis of forecast accuracy)
  • Working knowledge of time-series forecasting is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Documents to include MS Excel, Google Sheets/Documents.
  • Strong data manipulation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Solid organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, both as an individual contributor and as a team member

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
