DB2/AIX MAINFRAME SME

LOCATION: Remote

DESCRIPTION:

This position should be able to assist with any transitions needed for current IBM Mainframe systems to adapt to the new databases and new architecture. Able to implement DB2 security and catalogs as necessary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITES:

• Lead multiple infrastructure planning and implementation including instance strategy, technical platform selection, architecture design, backup and recovery strategy.
• Provide DBA support for various applications on AIX and Linux.
• Work on a data migration project from AIX to Linux system.
• Design, create, implement, maintain, tune and support DB2/UDB databases on UNIX and z/OS.
• Install mainframe and file server components, process schedulers, client-server databases, BMC software, and other relate products.
• Support numerous java base applications, JDBC and SQLJ.
• Design and code XML document storage and transfer applications using Java.
• Provide DBA support for all IMS tools including BMC and UBS products.
• Support a web base procurement system with a DB2 for Z/OS back end.
• Create tables/indexes and promote to various subsystems, including production using BMC change manager.
• Provide on-call coverage for a worldwide 7x24 online distribute OLTP application on an AIX platform.
• Involve in writing several UNIX shell scripts to monitor table space usage, buffer pool usage.
• Experience working with ETL tools to extract DB2 data from ZOS to staging tables in distribute platform.
• Develop ETL routines using DB2 load, unload utilities, DB2 connect, (data warehousing) and imports/exports.

REQUIRMENT SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• 10+ years of experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
