- Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sauk County Department of Human Services electronic health record through the development and design of system forms, reports, and widgets, utilizing application specific system tools, report writing software and SQL language.
- Monitor and resolve Human Services information system operational problems by testing and troubleshooting issues that arise through everyday use and/or patch installs, assist staff through the established internal help desk, open cases and work with information system vendor support and work with the County IT department on hardware issues and installation of new software products.
- Provide initial and ongoing staff training on agency Electronic Health Records System.
- Assist Data Systems Paraprofessional in assuring system security and managing system data base files, control files, tables, and report specifications.
- Submit consumer service and data information through electronic transfer to state system. Implement changes to data collection required by the state in agency EHR system.
- Thoroughly proof, test and adjust modeled forms, widgets, and reports. Modify existing reports to pull various information needed for service programs.
- Maintain knowledge of current state, federal and county mandates and create and implement tools to compile essential information.
- Maintain contact with contracted Crisis Line agency. Import overnight crisis call information and notify staff of crisis contacts received through the after-hours crisis line.
- Monitor consumer placements initiating/creating Service Authorizations for the department accountant enabling the payment of services rendered. Review billing statements from hospitals, CBRF’s, Adult Family Homes, Crisis Beds, etc., verifying authorization/placement forms are in place and services will be covered for payment.
- Proof service entry completeness and accuracy of documentation by professional staff, contacting the appropriate staff to make corrections and/or complete documentation prior to insurance claims and billing statements being processed.
- Develop and maintain documentation and manuals written or distributed concerning the information system; design and implement appropriate solutions using staff information and requests; participate in department project teams charged with planning, development, integration, agency reporting, and organization of the Human Services programs, policies, and procedures.
Act as Data Systems Paraprofessional in their absence.
Responsible for the maintenance of the standard format for documentation and manuals written or distributed concerning the information system; design and implement appropriate solutions using staff information and requests; participate in department project teams charged with planning, development, integration, agency reporting, and organization of the Human Services programs, policies and procedures.
Serve as a contact for statewide E-mail messages and sending messages to the appropriate contact.
Coordinate and assist implementation in Human Services information system's integration with other county and state data systems.
And other duties as assigned.
Required: Associate’s degree in Information Systems or another related field
5 years of information systems experience
Preferred: Knowledge of Avatar NX electronic record software, Crystal Reports, SQL language, billing, and accounts payable procedures
