Join Northbrook Canoe Company, a family owned and operated business providing Canoe, Kayak and Tubing trips on the Brandywine Creek. We have been in operation since 1977 and are looking for a few people to join our staff. We are seeking Full time office staff and Drivers/Ground Crew for the 2023 season. Season runs May 1 – Early October, seven days a week. Flexible schedules although weekends are prime time. Great for students looking for summer work. Bus drivers looking for summer work are highly encouraged to apply.

Office Staff:

Job Duties:

• Answer Phones
• Take and Confirm Customer Reservations both over the phone and through our online system.
• Fill out customer leases and confirm adherence to company safety policies.
• Ensure that all members of a party have a signed waiver of liability.
• Cashier
• Other duties as assigned.

Required work experience:

• No Experience necessary – we will train.
• Pay varies based on previous experience.

Skills/Education

• Good communication especially over the phone.
• Basic Math skills for Cashier responsibilities.

Non CDL Drivers/Ground Crew:

Job Duties:

• Load and unload equipment on assigned company vehicles.
• Move equipment and vehicles around property as necessary.
• Drive company vehicles, equipment and customers to start destination, including SUV’s, Pick-up trucks and 14 passenger vans pulling trailers.
• Maintain vehicles and property – includes painting, mowing, weed eating, sweeping, raking, etc.
• Provide safety equipment and instructions to customers.
• Customer service – answering phones, interacting with customers, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required work experience:

• Drivers must be 18 years of age with a clean driving history for insurance purposes.
• No Experience necessary - We will train.
• Pay varies based on previous experience.

Skills/Education

• Good communication skills – public speaking for safety speeches and good phone skills.
• Physically fit - able to lift canoes (approx 85-100 lbs), kayaks (approx 45 lbs) and tubes (approx 5 lbs).
• 18 years and up for drivers, 14 years and up for Ground Crew.
• Driver’s must have a clean and valid license.

CDL Drivers:

Job Duties:

• Load and unload equipment on assigned company vehicles.
• Move equipment and vehicles around property as necessary.
• Drive company vehicles, equipment and customers to start destination, including SUV’s, Pick-up trucks, 14 passenger vans pulling trailers and Buses up to 48 passengers.
• Maintain vehicles and property – includes painting, mowing, weed eating, sweeping, raking, etc.
• Provide safety equipment and instructions to customers.
• Customer service – answering phones, interacting with customers, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required work experience:

• Drivers must be 21 years of age with a clean driving history for insurance purposes.
• CDL Drivers are encouraged to apply. (Air brake & Passenger endorsement required)
• CDL Sign On Bonus. **
• Pay varies based on previous experience.

Skills/Education

• 21 years old for drivers
• Driver’s must have a clean and valid CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsements.

** Must be full time. CDL bonus up to $1000 based on number of days worked and will be paid as part of final paycheck.

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
