As for the Technology & Innovation Organization (T&I) , you hold a critical role as we continue our journey creating the leading industrial automation business - ensuring the company can deliver success with new customer wins around the world through strong collaboration taking place across all of our global teams and a leading edge technology platform.
As Director Governance & Portfolio Management, Chief of Staff, you act as the right-hand person to the SVP & CTO and are responsible for being a primary liaison to the Rockwell Automation Business Units, drive clarity around Project portfolio and execution performance, strategic alignment, risk mitigation as well as resources and investment needs.
You will collaborate with Business Unit leaders to link the long-term direction of the SVP & CTO to drive the initiatives that support the overall business strategy, drive efficient use of resources and enable growth. Through this role, you will help manage important projects by understanding and ensuring that the best information available is present for deliberate decision making and reducing surprises for key stakeholders. You will also help the SVP & CTO and other business leaders navigate uncertainty and risk through early identification of technology challenges or misalignment, helping to anticipate and resolving technological issues.
This role reports to the SVP & Chief Technology Officer and serves as an executive developmental role for VP/GM succession.
What you will do:
- drive clarity around Project portfolio and execution performance, strategic alignment, risk mitigation as well as resources and investment needs.
- Initiate and lead collaborative projects with Business Units, creating strong relationships and interlocking that results in better alignment and coordinated execution enabling the business to meet growth goals.
- Act as a key conduit between the Technology & Innovation organization and other business leaders within Rockwell
- Act as the primary liaison for all activities related to strategic portfolio management, in particular with the Strategy & Corporate Development organization.
- Create awareness, common practices and efficiency in the Technology & Innovation Organization
- Engage in annual planning and quarterly alignment with RA business units on joint priorities and deliverables.
- Ensure readiness for new or expansion projects (scope, stakeholders, partners, risks, deliverables)
- Monitor and report on T&I programs timeline, milestones, risks and deliverables.
- Drive and oversee critical projects and initiatives to ensure business success as it relates to the defined long-term direction established by the SVP and CTO.
- Plan, manage, and complete complex projects with minimal direction. Give Sr Leader presentations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Business Management or other related discipline preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or other related discipline
- Typically requires a minimum of 12 years management experience.
- Considerable understanding of the SVP strategy and critical priorities. In depth understanding of platform technologies, technical standards and best practices within the Automation Industry
- Excellent strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and written/verbal communication skills
- Requires an ability to sell ideas and present strategies at all organizational levels including the senior executive level and board level.
- Proven history of driving change in an organization and mentoring/enabling leaders
- Must be able to travel regularly to internal global teams, customers and other locations based on business needs.
- Awareness of software technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform or other cloud technologies and the design of large-scale production enterprise software products and cloud applications to instill credibility in driving the business strategy.
