Mahopac Kids & Mahopac Falls Nursery School

Mahopac Falls Nursery School has been operating since 1972 and is beloved in the community as a nonsectarian school.

Our mission is to provide excellent education and care for children in the Mahopac area.

Since 2021, we have expanded to a full day program for children 3-12 years and is now called Mahopac Kids & Mahopac Falls Nursery School.
This includes kindergarten 9AM-3PM and before & after care for elementary school and kindergarten children

We are seeking an Assistant Teacher 3-6 PM, M-F. Possibility for substituting.

Duties include:

• Assisting the teacher with hands on activities and assist with meeting the needs and interests of the children in our care.
• Possible homework help
• Greet and welcome children and parents in an enthusiastic manner each day.
• Maintain a happy, clean and relaxed atmosphere.
• Set up play areas, materials and decorations for safe and constructive play.
• Oversee and facilitate the general safety and organization of the classroom environment and its activities, including outside play.

The ideal candidate:

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact well with children and adults
• Warm, friendly, upbeat personality.
• Highly organized, reliable and able to plan and manage time well

Minimum Requirements:

Age 18 or older

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19

At least one year working directly with children

Ideal:

Prior work in a formal childcare setting

Credits or degree in Early Childhood Education, First Aid or CPR certification

Will need to pass a standard NYS OCFS background check including fingerprinting.
