What you'll do...
Pay rate starting at $25.50/hr
Researches moderately complex federal, state and local tax issues and provides responses on these issues to inquiring tax professionals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with a team of tax experts to provide support to tax professionals in the field who submit questions via online and chat portals.
- Willing to work in live chat environment to provide direct, real time field support.
- Through the use of available research tools, you will put together rapid, accurate, and actionable responses to tax pro inquiries on tax research questions.
- Assembles and reviews internal tax content and field-facing presentations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business related field or commensurate tax experience.
- Graduate degree in accounting, tax, or law, or progress towards completion of such degree, or completion of Judicial Clerkship is desirable.
- A minimum of 1 year tax research, tax preparation, or related experience.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and correctly formulate solutions to moderately complex tax situations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in multi-state tax preparation or concepts preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform assignments in a highly detailed and accurate manner.
- Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems
- Proficiency with PC applications including but not limited to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with at least one online tax research tool (RIA, CCH, BNA, Lexis, or similar)
- Master’s degree in Tax, Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related field
- Judicial Clerkship or experience writing memoranda of law
- Circular 230 designation highly desirable

- Intermediate (practical application) Demonstrated ability to effectively research complex tax issues and effectively communicate findings.
- Intermediate (practical application) Proficiency with at least one online tax research tool.
- Intermediate (practical application) Knowledge of tax research principles, procedures and techniques.
- Advanced (applied theory) Writing skills to explain complex tax information in a clear manner and in plain language.
- Advanced (applied theory) Operational knowledge of tax law and regulations sufficient to understand and explain elements of personal, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, estate, gift, and international taxation.
Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.
Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
