Job description
The HR Manager provides critical recruitment strategy and human resources generalist support to the Firm. This includes overseeing the full-cycle recruitment process, benefit administration, performance management, and other high level functions to ensure the successful operation of the Human Resources department and outstanding employee experience at BMF. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and interfaces with all levels of stakeholders, internally and externally to the Firm. This position is mainly located onsite in our Akron/Fairlawn office with flexible remote work options.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Partners with internal departments and COO to recommend and execute workforce planning strategies.
- Lead the full-cycle recruitment strategy for the Firm by working with key business partners and department heads to set strategy and direction.
- Directly manages HR & Recruitment Coordinator in the implementation of the full-cycle recruitment strategy, including entry-level through Senior level candidates.
- Understanding of HR Laws & Regulations, including but not limited to:
- Equal Employment Opportunity (EEOC) guidelines related to sourcing and selection
- The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
- Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)
- Annually, conducts market reviews for salary benchmarking and competitive intelligence for both campus and experienced hires. Communicates appropriately with COO to inform talent acquisition strategy and internal employee experience.
- Provide effective management and administration of various HR processes and programs, including but not limited to:
- Onboarding/orientation, with support of HR & Recruitment Coordinator
- Responsible for integrity and compliance of all HR and employee files
- Benefit Administration
- Performance Management Process
- Learning & Development Programs in partnership with department heads
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related degree
- HR certification preferred (HRCI or SHRM)
- Minimum 5 years in an HR role
- Ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders
- Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
- Experience with a CPA firm or professional services firm is preferred

- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation/platform skills
- Experience partnering with all levels of staff and management in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and have demonstrated project management skills
- Experience in progressive human resources environments, utilizing current industry best practices is preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various constituencies
- Must have demonstrated proficiency with common office tools such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Previous experience with relevant HRIS technology platforms
