Duration: 14 weeks contract (possible for extension)

Hours per Week: 40

Shift and Time: 15:00 PM - 23:30 PM (M-F)

Schedule Details: 8 hr Evenings

Weekend Rotation: Required

Floating Req: Will float to all SPD locations

Experience Required: 1-year experience as Sterile Processing Technician

Certificates Required: CRCST/CSPDT Certification required within 12 months of hire

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Sterile Processing Manager, the Sterile Processing Technician processes the instrumentation utilized in the operating room and ancillary areas according to regulatory standards and appropriate internal standards. The role provides and customer-focused service to all Health System team members, leadership and medical staff and to the patients/visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.Note: These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and duties and may vary dependent upon your department or unit. • Maintains a neat, clutter free and clean work environment.
• Demonstrates proper hand hygiene, standard precautions, and isolation principles.
• Decontaminates, inspects, assembles and sterilizes instrumentation according to national guidelines and internal standards.
• Operates departmental equipment within appropriate guidelines/policies/procedures.
• Demonstrates high levels of quality control by following departmental policies/procedures and thorough documentation of sterilization process.
• Effectively prioritizes and communicates customer needs within the department and with external customers.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Understands and identifies instrumentation and equipment utilized in all customer areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technologist experience
• CRCST Certification required within 12 months of hire

Preferred:

• Possesses CRCST Certification at time of hire
• 1-year experience as Sterile Processing Technician

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
