Job description
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of company’s reports and statements.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare journal entries, monthly support schedules, reconcile general ledger accounts and perform other month end duties.
· Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and resolve accounting related issues.
· Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions.
· Focus on continuous improvement of established processes, controls, and documentation.
· Must be able to work across organizational boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve objectives.
· Performs other related duties and projects, as required.
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
· 2-3 years of general accounting experience.
· NetSuite experience preferred.
· Transportation Industry experience preferred.
· Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
· Ability to effectively communicate with management, peers and staff.
