Job Summary and Mission

As a systems analyst sr. on this team, you will help shape the future of the Starbucks Production Controller platform at Starbucks, be an integral part of the company’s transformation and innovation journey and be able to associate your work with the company’s strategic pillars and its direct impact to partners, customers, and the business.

This role requires experience performing requirements analysis, understanding solution design, product configuration, coupled with the ability to collaborate across various IT and business functions. In delivering new technology products and enhancing/supporting existing systems, an effective systems analyst sr. contributes relevant technical, functional, and process knowledge to ensure a consistent user technology experience, a scalable, and an optimized solution.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Product Definition and Planning

  • Translates customer experience into product solutions and technical requirements
  • Engages with internal business stakeholders and third-party delivery partners through day to day collaboration and decision making with a cross-functional team including consultants, architects, developers, and testers
  • Facilitates user story creation and backlog grooming in an agile delivery environment

Solution Delivery

  • Gathers, analyzes, and documents business requirements to support the design and development of technology and/or process solutions
  • Performs application configuration in support of solution delivery initiatives
  • Participates in solution testing efforts by developing test plans, preparing test environments, coordinating test execution, and validating test results
  • Creates system and end-user documentation to support new system implementation, enhancement deployment, and incident management efforts
  • Delivers training and performs knowledge transfer to team members as required
  • Proactively identifies and effectively pursues process improvement opportunities


Production Support

  • Coordinates issue resolution with vendors and/or cross-functional teams. Provides timely and thorough communication regarding issue status/resolution with end-users and other key stakeholders.
  • Update knowledge base and/or support articles based on identification of new process
  • Provides support for integration with various internal and external applications
  • Define and monitor system health metrics
  • Provides 24/7 support of critical systems


Coordination/Leadership

  • Self-directed; is successful with minimal direction and provides guidance and support to consultants and less senior analysts
  • Provides constructive input and perspective to team conversations.
  • Effectively facilitates/negotiates through challenging situations
  • Interfaces across organization levels comfortably with internal business stakeholders, cross-functional technical peers, and external business partners, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership
  • Understanding of technical nuances and system architecture
  • Expertise in multi-domain system integrations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience working with integrations with 3rd party systems in a cloud-based environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex processes and technology issues.
  • Experience in a prior Systems Admin position to help maintain and monitor systems and infrastructure
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills
  • Continuous Improvement principles and concepts
