Hope Christian Services serves more than 110 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded in the spirit of Christian love, the residential facility opened in December 1972. It expanded into the community in 1986 with the development of group homes, where residents enjoy supervised supported living. In 1992 the organization advanced its philosophy of providing home-like settings for residents with the construction of on-site lodges. Hope Christian Services currently operates 13 facilities in Bergen and Passaic Counties and is seeking qualified candidates for a Speech Therapist. The right candidate will be able to multi-task, have exceptional organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication.

Job Qualifications

• Education: A master's or doctoral degree in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology
• Licensure: Current, valid license in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Work Experience: 1 yearexperience with severe and profound developmental delays preferred
• Special Skills/Licenses: Current valid NJ Speech Therapist license.
• Training: Attend allrequired HCS orientation and in-services
• Communication Skills: Read, write and speak English

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Interact with residents and loved ones with impeccable customer service, principles, and professionalism
• Provide recommendations supporting communications/assessments
• Assist in personal care when needed
• Maintain monthly progress notes on all residents who receive individual therapy
• Provide annual speech, language, and mealtime evaluations
• Work collaboratively with the therapy team to assess resident’s individual needs
• Provide ongoing formal and informal staff training as needed
• Attend continuing education classes and workshops according to HCS and state requirements
• All other duties as assigned
