In this role, you will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of requirements, interfaces, verification, and qualification using systems engineering tools and processes to achieve New Shepard program’s mission to make human spaceflight accessible and affordable. As a Systems Engineer you will involved in system safety evaluations, risk management, test planning, technical performance measurement, problem resolution, and configuration and data management.
As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will be responsible to produce systems engineering deliverables for various spaceflight systems including propulsion module, crew capsule, and/or launch operation. You will contribute to achieving system verification, qualification, and certification for human flight. In addition, you will support future development activities to improve the New Shepard system utilizing gated process.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to carry out systems engineering activities in accordance with system engineering standards and practices, tailoring required processes to complete tasks assigned such as:
- Requirements analysis and traceability,
- Functional analysis,
- Systems analysis,
- Technical performance monitoring,
- Development and maintenance of system analysis documentation and data books,
- Participation in gated reviews,
- Understand and document system behaviors with architecture,
- Support Lead Systems Engineers and Design Leads
- Develop and mature Concept of Operations documents
- Develop strategies, approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) integration, analysis and verification
- 7+ years proven system development/integration experience – preferably with aerospace or safety critical systems
- B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, propulsion, or systems engineering
- Knowledge of current systems engineering and integration tools and methodologies
- Good communication skills, ability to work optimally in teams, good execution and coordination skills
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our inclusive culture.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS classic and/or DNG
- Proven experience in reliability, maintainability and supportability analysis and execution
- Experience across the product life cycle
- System Safety analysis experience including Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Functional Hazard Analysis
- Basic project management skills including labor estimating and schedule management
- M.S. a plus
