We are seeking a SENIOR BUYER in Wausau, Wisconsin at Aspirus Health. Under limited supervision, the Senior Buyer manages multiple projects supporting assets into the millions, conceptualizes current and future process flows, purchases goods and services, capital, service agreements, develops and analyzes data, implements vendor assessments, establishes relationships with clinicians and suppliers, and presents recommendations to leadership. This role also processes departmental requests, interacts with vendor representatives, performs cost/inventory analysis, and electronically or manually communicates orders. To suppliers. Coordinates follow up with the vendor receiving department or distribution of product as appropriate, accounts payable, and the user department. Serves as a resource concerning Purchasing policies and procedures, and related work as required.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of purchasing practices normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or Accounting.
- Three to five years’ project management experience in a medical environment or business office.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and supplies, accounting principles, and inventory operations beneficial.
- Ability to understand and develop health care process flows.
- Demonstrates strong clerical and computer skills. Must be able to use Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Possesses excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize own workload.
- Possesses strong analytical skills, with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, Day Shift 8:00 am – 5 pm. 80 hours per pay period. Benefits package available.

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is the flagship of the Aspirus system that serves patients in 14 counties across northern and central Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
