Duties and Responsibilities
The College of Education, Department of Educational Theory and Practice at Montana State University Billings seeks a qualified School Counseling professional to teach graduate (Master’s level) courses in School Counseling. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in School Counseling, three years experience as a school counselor in public schools and demonstrate the ability to work successfully with colleagues. Typical load = 24 credit hours/AY; summer session with possible additional credit hours and additional compensation. Salary commensurate with qualifications.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Master’s degree in School Counseling and appropriate licensure qualifications.
  • Ability to teach school counseling courses.
  • Minimum of three years as a school counselor in public schools.


Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Supervision of students in field experiences.

The Successful Candidate Will
The successful candidate will be expected to teach online graduate courses in school counseling, supervise student field experiences, advise graduate students, and serve on university and college committees. The Teacher Education Program at Montana State University Billings is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for the preparation of elementary and secondary teachers and school counselors. The Montana State Board of Public Education accredits the Teacher Education Program.
