Position Title: Scheduling/Testing Coordinator
Reports To: Operations Manager
Department: Operations
FLSA Classification: Exempt
SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Administers the adult basic education test (TABE), pre-GED and GED OPT to students to determine their initial, interim and final performance achievement levels and learning gains. Coordinates, enters, and publishes student training schedules. Assists and monitors class attendance. Works with Career Counselors to locate and retrieve students in AWOL status.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers, interprets, scores and records the TABE, pre-GED, and GED OPT test results according to state and Job Corps guidelines.
- Maintains all required records and test results on students.
- Administers the TABE using the online electronic version.
- Prepares testing materials and exam rooms and monitors the conduct during the testing periods.
- Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Compiles and distributes a list of each student’s test results to appropriate department heads.
- Manages the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate, and assist each student as the need arises.
- Records and forwards daily attendance to Student Records.
- Models appropriate behaviors, mentors students and monitors both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Prepares student class schedules and verifies schedule changes.
- Prepares and disseminates scheduling reports to appropriate staff on center.
- Assists students and staff in resolving attendance and scheduling issues.
- Maintains accurate records of daily attendance by the hour and submits a summary of attendance reports to Data Integrity.
- Reviews daily class absence reports and maintains files for student daily attendance.
- Maintains communication with the Counseling team regarding student UA status. Assists with retrieval of students in AWOL status.
- Updates class assignments, ensures students are not enrolled in classes previously completed, prints the Class Assignment Loading list, and monitors the loading balance in classes.
- Prepares business letters, memorandums, reports, charts, etc. on a personal computer.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of test administration and evaluation
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
- High energy level and ability to engage students
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies and classroom management
- Ability to quickly learn Job Corps methodologies and strategies
- Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course material
- Ability to effectively respond to student issues as they arise
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer with emphasis on Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling or related field. A combination of education and experience
may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE:
- One-year work related experience.
OTHER:
- Must possess valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
