Essential Functions*:
- Responsible for documentation development and updates, problem-solving and root cause analysis, first article execution support, SPC system management, and military technical data package change management, including Contracts Data Requirements Listings (CDRLs), Acceptance Inspection Equipment (AIE) listings, Critical Characteristics Control (CCC) Plan, Critical Plans of Action (CPOAs), Statistical Process Control (SPC) Plans, Tech Data Packages (TDPs), and Process Quality Plans (PQPs).
- Provide quality engineering support to failure analysis team leads, sometimes as the team leader in response to lot acceptance test failures and critical non-conformances.
- Develop and maintain failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) reports supporting failure analysis investigations and utilize InfinityQS and Minitab software applications to support failure analysis and improvement activities.
- Support first article acceptance testing (FAAT) activities through the development and execution of FAAT Plans, including all Pre-FAAT activities and FAAT plan development. Issue letters of intent (LOI) in support of work test sample processing.
- Serve as team lead for the Statistical Process Control (SPC) Program for assigned calibers, including support of all hardware and software equipment associated with SPC data collection systems. This includes maintenance of gages, indicators, data collection cables, display monitors, and keyboards.
- Develop SPC charts within the InfinityQS system, develop data reports, conduct trend analysis and establish and maintain alarm systems in response to out-of-control conditions. Support SPC training for all salary and shop floor users of the Infinity System and conduct periodic audits of the SPC system to ensure organizational compliance with the SPC Plan and Process Control Plans.
- Lead all efforts in support of the measurement systems analysis (MSA) Plan development, Gauge R&R execution, and MSA report generation. Work with the U.S. government in support of all identified corrective actions resulting from MSA outcomes.
- Ammunition Data Cards (ADC) – Aid Quality data evaluators to ensure ammunition data cards (ADCs) are maintained in accordance with contract requirements.
- Develop Request for Variances (RFV) documentation as requested by Quality and Program managers.
- Provide support to Quality supervisors in tracking, management, and closure of all non-conforming materials (NCMs) reports. Develop tracking tools to monitor and report status and details of NCMs issued. Develop nonconforming material dispositions and coordinate the material review board (MRB) for the program.
- Develop tracking tools and provide monthly and quarterly reports to monitor Critical NC Generation rates and Critical NC Escapement rates.
- Track monthly and annual performance KPI metrics and provide reports to stakeholders. These KPIs include lot acceptance test (LAT) performance, critical defect rates, scrap rates and non-conforming materials rate.
Position Requirements*:
- Bachelor’s degree** in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline required.
- Minimum three years experience with application and analysis of statistical process control (SPC) principles and internal audits; ISO 9001:2015 certification preferred.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint.
- Experience with Minitab preferred.
- Ability to effectively organize and manage projects and prioritize workload.
- Ability to effectively present data and information and respond to questions from management.
- Follow company policies and standards.
- Working knowledge of the shooting sports; specifically ammunition desired.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
