General Responsibilities/Job Summary

The ideal candidate will work closely with the purchasing department to collect, analyze and monitor pricing from suppliers to provide new selling prices for various customer groups. In addition, an internal system for product pricing methods will also be maintained.

Collect and analyze sales data and inventory information. This information will be used to create various reports to predict and control costs by identifying product trends. These reports will also be used to collect data on items ending their life cycle to minimize obsolete inventory.

The candidate should have strong analytical skills along with advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of internal pricing system along with providing same selling price changes to the home office for (Buying Guide)
  • Manage price files from suppliers and import pricing into the system
  • Add, discontinue, and/or supersede part numbers
  • Increase/decrease pricing on part numbers for each supplier and apply any tier pricing when appropriate
  • Help to generate movement (POP) codes
  • Track and interpret data from sales/inventory reports
  • Generate various reports from collected data using VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, and Concatenate functions in Excel:
  • Track sales by customer groups and unit volume by product
  • Assist in order tracking and turnaround time reports
  • Formulate extrapolations and weighted averages
  • Work with buyers to analyze sales trends of SKUs to decide when an item is at the end-of-life cycle
  • Work with suppliers to arrange periodic returns of goods
  • Liaison between various departments with reports and price changes
  • Assist where needed in helping to identify and implementing new software to improve efficiency
  • Other responsibilities as needed and identified going forward

Qualifications:

  • Proven analytic skills, including evaluation and visualization
  • Prior experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques
  • Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations
  • Robust SQL or Excel Skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools
  • Knowledge of the aftermarket automotive industry preferred
  • Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn business processes
  • Competency in learning new software tools
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
