Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Regulatory Support group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Probabilistic Risk and Reliability Analyst.
Our team works a remote 9x80 schedule located at our Research Education Campus with every other Friday off!
Responsibilities Include:
Risk and reliability analysis engineer. Knowledgeable in the areas of risk and reliability and nuclear plant operations. Knowledgeable in nuclear power plant risk assessment model development. Position requires the ability for developing innovative solutions, working with operations data research programs, and working within research and development teams in risk and reliability analysis, and safety assessment for a wide variety of agencies including the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Position requires individual to conduct technical projects or significant tasks that may involve multidisciplinary activities. Work duties will require the ability to tackle unusually complex problems with little or no precedence requiring specialized techniques to provide solutions which are highly innovative. Position requires one to develop the technical approach for solving problems and meeting client needs. Expectations are that one proactively identifies, promotes, and develops appropriate new technical capabilities and implement plans for new and significant project opportunities. Consistently demonstrate ability to acquire internal/external funding for self and others. The individual will be expected to be primary author or contributor on a significant number of literary publications or reports, presents papers at national meetings, and may present invited papers. The individual may develop intellectual property leading to publications, copyrights and/or patents and may supply to technology transfer.
The position requires effective research skills and the ability to collaborate and partner with other government agencies, academia, and private sector companies to achieve project objectives; work with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers on challenging work scope; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with management, co-workers, and with customers; publish results of research and development in a mix of refereed publications and conferences; work effectively with other research teams to develop new proposals and handle cross-cutting technical programs for a variety of customers.

Minimum Requirements:
- BS and 2+ years, MS and 1 year, or PhD in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- BS and 5+ years, MS and 3+ +year, or PhD and 2 years in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related fields along with years of experience in risk and reliability including: PRA fault tree, event tree, and data analysis; human reliability analysis; reliability, availability, maintainability analysis; and/or statistical analysis

- Salary Grade 200 ($81,288 - $134,100)/ Salary Grade 210 ($93,492 - $154,212)
