Shift Requirements
2nd ShiftABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This role operates a printing press as assigned to company standards.
- Assists in make-ready process to include: verifying all customer job requirements are met, establish and hold color to approved target, support quality expectations by processing strip sheets, and ensure proper press settings are maintained.
- Cover for operator on breaks.
- Makes sure Paperwork is correct and accurate
- Assists to ensure established center lining procedures are followed to include capturing data for recipe cards, ph & conductivity monitoring, viscosity checks, density and UPC verifications are completed at defined frequencies
- Assists to meet or exceed waste goals
- Assist to meet or exceed shift machine center goals : sheets/eh, setup time, waste %, waste ink lbs., etc.
- Determine and correct any indications of off-level areas, variation in ink volume, register slippage, indications of offsetting, and color register
- Has Knowledge/skill of printing press with ability to maintain equipment, press controls, inking fountains, water and ink balance, ink adjustments, preventative maintenance.
- Makes sure Downstream departments have good product.
- Correctly tag/label product and use correct raw materials
- Alerts supervision when defective product enters process stream, handle with quality system guidelines
- Adheres to all established HS&E rules, policies, procedures and guidelines, including LOTO and Safe Works Permits when performing daily job duties, doing non-routine tasks, or working on special projects or teams.
- Attends all OSHA required training
- Strives for performing no unsafe acts or at-risk behaviors, with the goal to not attain any injuries including OSHA recordable’s
- Follows plant attendance and clock in/out policies
- Ensures work areas are maintained according to 6S and department requirements
- Strives to attain 10,000 % Compliance
- Works in other positions as needed, expert in all crew positions and able to train, instruct, guide the assistant or feeder; offer assistance as needed to peer operators for troubleshooting
- Helps train other team members, leadership and role model to crew.

High School Diploma or Equivalent
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to operate measurement instruments and record data.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
- Able to read a tape measure and various gauges.
- Ability to compute and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
