The Patrol Lead will be an essential member of Woodward Park City's Health and Safety team. The successful applicant will be driving a positive patrol culture, administering first aid and handling incidents around the Woodward Park City facility, leading the day-to-day operations, promoting excellent guest service, and assisting in incident investigations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Lead Patroller will be a patroller who oversees the day-to-day operation and may be scheduled to work day or evening shifts to fit the operation's needs. The Lead Patroller will accomplish tasks designated by the Manager/Asst. Manager/Supervisor of Health and Safety as well as the duties below:
- Drive a positive patrol culture.
- Assist and provide patient care for outdoor activities (skiing, snowboarding, tubing, mountain biking, skateboarding, and BMX) and indoor facility response.
- Provide excellent guest service.
- Promote and contribute to the ongoing safety culture and support operations as needed.
- Lead day to day operations and follow opening and closing procedures.
- Proficiency with chairlift evacuation & willing to assists in patroller development by being involved in training opportunities.
- Track and inventory medical supplies for reorder.
- Lead incident investigations.
- Operate snowmobiles and 4x4 for mountain operations.
- Cross train and assist in dispatch duties.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and learn new skills as needed.
- Communicates effectively with Manager/Asst. Manager/Supervisor of Health and Safety
- In the absence of management, the lead will be required to complete the following tasks: lead morning meeting, assign daily tasks, oversee closing procedures, initiate incident investigations, become point of contact for events, contact management for any serious incident.

- 3+ years of Ski Patrol Experience
- Previous leadership experience
- Four-year college degree
- Proficiency in caring for the sick and injured
- Proficiency in conflict resolution
- Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team, and to lead teams in achievinggoals.
- Ski Patrol Experience 2-3 years
- A valid driver's license is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must successfully complete a background check prior to employment.
- Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certified. Must be hold current certification. EMTs will be required to obtain an OEC certification during the training period at the start of the season.
- Must use manual dexterity to operate equipment.
- Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow, and provide directions.
- Must have excellent guest service skills.
- Must be able to safely negotiate terrain in and around Woodward Park City. All applicants must ski or snowboard and mountain bike.
- Must be comfortable working in an all season environment.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
