Outreach Specialist
Job description
The Outreach Specialist will recruit qualified students for our charter schools’ programs in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County. The Outreach Specialist is responsible for raising the awareness of the school in the broader community and for generating new inquiries to the online and brick-and-mortar schools by developing and maintaining community relationships with other schools and organizations. The Outreach Specialist will also support the overall enrollment goals of the schools by calling prospective students as needed to support the team dedicated to those efforts.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Travel locally on behalf of the school for recruitment and other school-related events.
- Manage assigned territories by discovering new opportunities to develop and build rapport within local and non-local business and educational communities.
- Build upon community partnerships for prospective student recruitment. Attend and participate in scheduled community events.
- Develop new inquiries for school enrollment.
- Support the enrollment process in local centers (family consultations, orientations, document collection, etc.) as needed or as assigned.
- Support the schools’ local digital media–websites and social media–through content curation and collection.
- Review available programs with parents/students and advise them on enrollment requirements at community events, in school sites, or via phone.
- Ensure that enrollment processes are in place to ensure registration data is completed properly and filed appropriately.
- Accurately enter new partner and new student information into the CRM system.
- Consistently achieve performance expectations for each term by maintaining targets (partner activity, lead generation, and lead conversion) to meet enrollment projections.
- Attend regularly scheduled internal meetings to monitor enrollment goals, review policy and procedures, and develop new strategies for recruitment.
- Analyze recruitment and retention data and make strategic recommendations to the Director/Manager of Admissions and Enrollment.
- Clearly articulate the mission and value of the charter school(s) you represent.
- Other duties as assigned, including outreach to prospective families/students in cooperation with Enrollment team members.

- Bilingual preferred
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of sales, enrollment, PR, or community relations experience
- Effective communication in writing, small groups, networking, and public speaking settings.
- Effective presentations to small groups or in one-to-one enrollment/sales environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), databases, and Google Suite
- Experience with CRMs (Salesforce in particular) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Work Locations:
- Work at school sites or event sites
- Work from home as allowed per company policy and with supervisor notification
- Work at Propel offices as assigned or needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
