Job Summary
The Administrator of NGINX load balancer to ensure adherence to the security, availability, and compliance requirements of the Shared Services' cloud environment. They work within our Infrastructure team and with our Firewall vendor to organize and manage work related to the firewall, such as VPN requests, HTTPS endpoint setups, firewall patching and security, IP blocks/unblocks, among other tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain all aspects of the firewall and NGINX load balancer, with assistance from Firewall vendor.
- Assist internal teams and customers with data integrations - configuring VPNs, load balancer endpoints, and passthroughs.
- Work closely with our security team to ensure perimeter security, maintain Palo Alto and NGINX patching levels, and protect the environment to meet HITRUST and SOC standards.
- Enhance performance, security, monitoring, availability & stability for network security infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain certificates used to secure HTTPS data integrations with our customers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connection issues - both with our external and internal customers.
- Review current configuration and setup against Palo Alto best practices.

- Experience with both firewalls and NGINX load balancer/reverse proxy • Experience working in Microsoft Azure and knowledge of Azure networking concepts • Experience with KQL (Kusto Query Language) and Microsoft Sentinel • Experience configuring customer VPNs and HTTPS endpoints.
- Experience configuring and managing Palo Alto IPS/Threat Prevention modules.
- Good understanding of routing concepts • Ability to manage many incoming requests and work with the firewall vendor to ensure networking requests are responded to in a timely manner.
- Proven background in security engineering and supporting of Palo Alto Security solutions.
Experience and/or Education Requirements • 5+ years of experience managing and maintaining a Palo Alto firewall.
- 3+ years of experience managing and maintaining NGINX/F5 products.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- CISSP/CCSPor equivalent certification preferred.
Skills: NGINX Admin who can support on the load balancer, Reverse proxy and other day to day operational services
Certificates: CISSP/CCSP or equivalent certification
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour
