Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester. Diagnosis malfunctioning apparatus motors, fixtures and PLCs using test equipment. Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches and motors, and positions sensing devices using appropriate tools. Replaces electrical motor bearings and rewires motor. Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Maintain and service equipment so machines and services will perform reliably as installed and designed by the manufacturer. Other areas of responsibility include the building and grounds, utilities, services such as air conditioning and heating, waste water treatment, and certain systems servicing equipment. The use of the manufacturer’s technical manuals, procedures developed by the plant engineer and experience facilitate responsibilities. Temporary deviations from the manufacturer’s design in order to maintain operation of the process may be made as long as it does not compromise safety, quality or security of the facility. When this occurs, the Plant Engineer must be notified personally or via the CMMS. Responsible for performing within all safety rules and plant policies at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- H.S. Diploma, or GED.
- Trade school graduate with emphasis on electrical/electronics to include PLC and CNC, or meets equivalent trade school training through special training programs with three years of practical multi-craft experience with emphasis on electrical/electronics to include PLC and CNC in an industrial environment, or five years practical multi-craft experience with emphasis on electrical/electronics to include PLC and CNC.
- Successfully attain an average or better score on the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Exam.
- Ability to lift 50lbs. with proper lifting technique.
