Maintenance Technician

Job Type: Full Time

Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm (some overtime and occasional weekends required).

Install, Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment. Prepares the site for new equipment installs, troubleshoots, performs repairs and maintenance throughout the site including but not limited to electrical faults, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, food production, vacuum equipment and wear parts replacement.

Inspect Equipment and Structures. Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions.

Document and Record Information. Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment used to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date.

Perform General Physical Activities. Perform a variety of activities during the course of completing the maintenance task, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, painting, cutting, grinding, welding and shoveling materials as needed.

Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times. We are committed to creating a safe work environment and protecting all employees and visitors.

Supervise. Oversee 3rd party/outside contractors.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Skills you’ll need:-

Experience. Previous maintenance experience is required. The ability to read and interpret equipment schematics and site blueprints to promote rapid failure recoveries. Display proficiency and understanding in refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, building maintenance and food production is preferred.

Flexibility. Must be able to work occasional overtime/extended hours in order to complete maintenance tasks to prevent and reduce production downtime.

Environment. Ability to work in cold environments. We’re a food manufacturing facility with 50% of the site operating at 32-40oF, 5% at 0oF and remaining warehouse at ambient temperatures.

Mechanical Skills. Must have good knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.

Maintain Inventory.Monitor, manage and order parts and supplies as needed.

Physical requirements. Include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Language. Must be able to communicate and write in English.

Valid Driving License required.

Salary. Starting at $45,000 - $52,000 per year
