Job description
We have an immediate DIRECT HIRE opportunity for a Lettershop Production Supervisor on 3rd shift. This will be a Monday-Friday 9:30pm-6:00am. Pay is $65-$80 range BOE. Must have previous experience in printing or mailing industry and knowledge of postal regulations a plus. Must have direct management experience of employees and performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Directly leads employees in the lettershop/hand Department. Will be responsible for managing the day-to-day production duties ensuring the maximum performance-quality, accuracy, on-time reliability, and productivity.
· Will work with the production manager to establish priorities and demands pertaining to workflow, employees and equipment.
· Maintains schedules and manages employee timecards.
· Preparing job paperwork and ensuring all materials, samples, and instructions are available prior to production. Communicating any discrepancies to the appropriate parties as required.
· Reviews and relays job requirements to employees.
· Sets-up materials and equipment for most efficient production.
· Trains employees to ensure job skill proficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Reports and maintains records, including time, counts, supplies, inventory, repair and maintenance on equipment.
· Solicits management approval on all changes or deviations from the original work order as quickly as possible to ensure continued production without jeopardizing the order.
· Conducts QC checks as per standard operating procedures, ensuring quality of work is per customer expectations.
· Manages performance, including annual evaluations, goal setting, performance improvement plans, and progressive disciplinary measures. Must have this experience to qualify.
· High accountability for ensuring a safe, clean, organized and respectful work environment.
· Facilitates transitions between shifts through exchange of pertinent information and eliminate downtime.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary technical training preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience in machine operation. Experience in lead or supervisory role preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.Familiarity with ISO methodology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl while monitoring the laser printers; use hands to grasp or handle documents, boxes, rolls of paper, and other objects; reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift 40 - 60 pounds and/or push large rolls (weighing up to 1000 pounds) of paper. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
