Inland Transportation Services seeks a driven, opportunistic sales professional to join our logistics team at our Spokane, Washington business office. This is a business development sales position that works within our team in the challenging and high energy industry of freight management that can be extremely rewarding. This position continuously prospects and generates relationships. This role is primarily Monday through Friday and based in the office, but will vary due to the client’s needs.

Responsibilities Include:

• Generate sales leads and connecting with clients by networking, cold-calling, emailing and maintaining a social media presence to build relationships as part of a coordinated sales strategy.
• Maintain relationships with existing clientele and grow business internally.
• Analyze historical sales activity, forecast future sales, and set goals/targets.
• Dedicate time towards understanding new customers’ business needs.
• Create sales strategies by gathering market information, analyzing opportunities and documenting sales methodology.
• Responding to client prospect inquiries by preparing responses to requests for proposals (RFP’s) and requests for quotations (RFQ’s).
• Prepare presentations and present to prospective clients.
• Work with team to establish both virtual and tangible marketing campaign (Print, social Media, Web based).
• Identify additional certifications and requirements needed to support customer base.
• Track daily activity in a SMS (sales management system).

• Transportation and logistics experience is preferred.

• Microsoft Office literate (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Previous SMS/TMS experience beneficial.

The Logistics Business Development Specialist is a salaried position. Pay range is $50k to $65k per year base salary plus uncapped commissions. Final salary depends on experience level.
