TITLE: Lead Youth Development Specialist
REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator or Director
CLASSIFIED: Non-Exempt
MISSION: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Youth Development Professional will plan, organize, implement, supervise, and evaluate daily programs and activities for youth. The Lead Youth Development Specialist is responsible for supervising youth and Youth Development Specialists.
JOB DUTIES:
- Must be able to provide leadership, on-the-spot and reflective feedback, and supervision to assigned Youth Development professionals/volunteers.
- Plans and oversees the delivery of a broad range of quality programs and special events for a program area. Ensuring the implementation of the program schedule, as well as planned impact programs in the assigned program area.
- Commitment to youth safety; to include adequate supervision of youth, as well as providing a safe and welcoming environment.
- Foster effective communication with parents, community, and school.
- Assist with youth having behavioral challenges and support corrective methods and plans.
- Ensures an environment that facilitates cleanliness, attractiveness, and safety of members, properties, and equipment.
- Participate in training, special programs, and/or events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Commitment to working four days a week
- Committed to working school year hours (M, T, TH, FRI: 3:00-6:00 PM) (W: 2:30-6 PM)
- Commitment to working at the Club during the summer 20-30 hours. (Open M-Fri: 7:30-6:00 PM)
- Valid CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of employment. We provide this training in-house if you are not currently certified!
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, etc. at the Club to ensure the safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time throughout a shift
