Westinghouse Parts Business (WPB) seeks a Lead Planning Specialist in our New Stanton facility to support the WPB Fulfillment team. The New Stanton site works on projects to bolster plant safety and reliability by providing the instrumentation and control, mechanical, and electrical products and services that our customers require. This position will focus on planning of WPB Electrical Products activities to meet internal and external customer demands.
Your Day to Day:
- Leading team meetings with planning and shop operations to review open items and ensure overall on time delivery.
- Working with supply chain to expedite/resolve supplier delivery delays to ensure end customer commitments are met.
- Working with Inside Sales to oversee expedited delivery requests and orders.
- Providing a monthly financial forecast report and working with planners/shop supervisors to meet monthly financial targets.
- Suggesting, participating in, and leading process improvement projects pertaining to order entry, planning, or shop operations.
- Working with Assistant Area Manager in planning, communicating and monitoring shop resources to achieve effective utilization of employees, equipment, and material.
- Training new planners joining the WPB organization.
- Working with Inventory Planning to optimize component stocking levels and lot sizes.
- Providing estimated work hours on contract proposals through collaboration with Assistant Area Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, and Technicians.
- Working with Engineering and Supply Chain to requisition materials/items and/or subcontracted services.
- Tracking order progress and maintaining order updates/forecasts in SAP.
- Determining appropriate priority for work requests and feedback to requesters when necessary.
- Developing and process customer orders for standard parts/products.
- Reviewing customer specifications, customer purchase orders to ensure alignment with quoted scope as well as current inventory/lead time/capacity.
- Coordinating with Engineering and Inside Sales to identify and resolve commercial and technical issues.
- Interfacing with internal Westinghouse organizations to source orders in a timely manner to meet customer needs.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technical field of study, or related field
- Minimum 5 - 7 years’ planning experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel
- SAP knowledge, especially production, requisitioning, and material master data management is desired
- Experience with contract review and interpretation is desired
- Understanding of basic mechanical manufacturing processes is desired
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills and Good Team Orientation are required.
