Habitat Gardens, a local Eco-Friendly Landscape Company, is looking for well-qualified applicants for Landscape Horticulture part-time position. Starting pay between $20 - $22 per hour, depending on knowledge, skills, experience and productivity, etc.

Job Description:

-Assist crew with landscape maintenance – weeding, skilled pruning, general landscape clean up, use of mostly electric power tools (we have one gas hedger) including the lawn mower, string trimmer, hedger, blower, etc. General upkeep of clients’ gardens and landscapes in and around the city of Santa Cruz.

-Occasionally assist the crew with landscape installation and garden renovation – planting, drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, applying compost and mulch, occasionally using other power tools including drills, saws, etc.

Landscape Crew Member Qualifications, Responsibilities and Duties:

• Knowledge and Experience with Ecological and Sustainable Landscape Practices
• Experience with Landscape Maintenance – weeding, skilled pruning, use of power tools, etc.
• Basic Knowledge of local plants and proper planting techniques
• Customer service & problem solving skills
• Must be able to occasionally lift and carry heavy loads
• Responsible and on-time
• Flexible Schedule
• Experience with Landscape Construction is a plus but not necessary – Stone Work, Basic Carpentry, etc

* Good Driving Record

- Ability to drive a stick shift is a plus but not necessary

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
