Stony Brook University Department of Urology is looking for a Urologic Kidney Transplant Surgeon to practice in Kidney Transplantation and General Urology at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidate will provide surgical support for the transplant program through daily clinical practice, team engagement, communication, scholarly endeavors. and regular outreach. Teaching responsibilities to include urology and general surgery residents, medical students, as well as nurses and other clinical personnel in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Therefore, the candidate must display superior communication and interpersonal skills. The physician will demonstrate high standards of practice through the implementation and growth of transplant policies, protocols, and practice guidelines while participating in QAPI initiatives. In addition to transplant responsibilities, the surgeon will be expected to practice and support the overall department of Urology clinical practice needs on a regular basis.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
1. MD, DO or MD/PhD Degree.
2. Board certified/eligible in Urology and fellowship training in Kidney transplantation.
3. New York State medical licensed or eligible.
4. Academically oriented with demonstrated clinical, teaching, and research ability.
5. Experience and interest in Kidney Transplantation & General Urology.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Completed fellowship training in Kidney Transplantation from an American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) accredited program.
