Inventory Specialist Responsibilities
- Counts Inventory
- Receives and counts items in the warehouse inventory (and third-party warehouses, when needed) and records the data on a computer on a monthly basis and reported to procurement, sales, and accounting.
- Ensures stocked items are organized and accessible.
- Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis.
- Maintain count accuracy (digital and physical counting)
- Improve upon current inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock management.
- Preparing inventory reconciliation reports
- Control inventory losses through auditing and analysis of inventory results
- Ensure retail areas are organized and that merchandise is properly maintained and accurately ticketed.
Logistics
- Tracking incoming and outgoing inventory at company’s warehouses utilizing company’s database
- Reporting, liaison with procurement, dealing with 3rdparty warehouses, inventory in/out, tracking inventory in the warehouse, warehouse receipts, monitoring shipments, inventory reconciliations, and reconciling differences.
- Execution of all exception report research for inbound and outbound freight to maintain inventory integrity.
Discrepancies:
- Compares the quantities of items physically present in the warehouse to the inventory records of the warehouse.
- Investigates differences between the stock on hand and the records.
- Informs and advises internal departments (i.e., Warehousing, Production, Quality, etc.) on corrective actions/adjustments needed on their end to prevent errors in the system.
- Adjusts the errors in the system, under the direction of Accounting and Director of Operations.
Inventory Tagging:
- Create a process in tagging inventory among all warehouses and make sure tags match the inventory control file.
- Ensures warehouse stocking area is clean and well maintained, in accordance with federal, state, and local safety rules.
- With guidance from the Inventory Control Manager, determines proper storage procedures and inventory control methods.
Stock Inspection:
- Examines items in inventory for defects, and damage and reports this information to Inventory Control Manager.
- Maintains records of damaged stock and damaged warehouse materials.
- Dispose of obsolete inventory as directed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Position is an operational role rather than an accounting with an emphasis on tracking, and monitoring inventory while generating timely reports.
- Work with finance to issue material ahead of job start to maximize cash flow.
- Producing monthly reports, reconciling with sales, procurement, and accounting.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field, Required.
- At least 2 years’ experience reconciling inventories.
- Excellent people skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite especially excel
- Perform well in a fast-paced work environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
