Are you an experienced HVAC technician looking for a new opportunity in the Galveston area? Our growing company is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team and help us provide top-notch service to our valued customers.

As our HVAC technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems, including air conditioning, heating, and ventilation. You'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment and systems and provide excellent service to our diverse client base. We are looking for someone who would fit this role and join our Galveston Cruise Terminal Hensel Phelps Team!

Position Description:

Assembles, installs, repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots HVAC systems and equipment.


Position Qualifications:

  • Refrigeration System Operating Engineer Certification.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • The ability to read, understand and communicate in English is required. Communication includes both verbal and written skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with other trade partners as well as peers, supervisors, and clients.
  • Basic computer skills such as internet, email, electronic manual, etc. Ability to learn additional programs as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications for sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, EPS and boiler systems preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a commercial setting.

Essential Duties:

  • Trouble-shoot controls and power electrical systems.
  • Remove and replace motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses, and primary control components.
  • Trouble-shoot primary electronic systems using ladder logic, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Must be able to make new installation wiring hook-ups and upgrade present equipment (if needed).
  • Assembling, inspecting adjusting, repairing, or replacing faulty parts and wiring on all types of electronic and electrical devices. Making mechanical and electrical repairs as required.
  • Perform mechanical operations, repair, and maintenance to building systems to include automatic transfer switches, UPS/battery storage, emergency generators, and photovoltaic systems.
  • Interpret and understand Federal, State and local code ordinances.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts including, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
