Position Summary: The HVAC Chiller Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing chiller systems used in commercial and industrial facilities. This position requires a strong background in HVAC systems, electrical systems, and refrigeration principles. The technician should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on chiller systems to ensure proper operation
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with chiller systems and make necessary repairs
- Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, motors, and controls
- Perform electrical work related to the installation and repair of chiller systems
- Install new chiller systems in new and existing buildings
- Document work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and services performed
- Communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, and supervisors
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
- Stay up-to-date with new HVAC technologies and industry standards
Qualifications:
A Chiller Technician must have the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative in servicing customers and maintaining positive customer relations. Our Technician should have great communication skills and a strong knowledge of HVAC, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- High school degree or GED, HVAC or Technical training preferred
- 2 + years previous experience in the HVAC industry
- EPA Universal License
- Great Communication Skill – Ability to interact with customers comfortably
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to meet physical demands
