Summary: Reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and is responsible for administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant of Human Resources is responsible for effective performance in the following areas:
- Assists with coordinating and implement training and/or orientation programs, as required.
- Assist with management of tuition reimbursement for district.
- Complete employment verifications.
- Maintain necessary personnel data and reports for local, state and national reports and questionnaires; provides appropriate information concerning personnel to outside agencies.
- Manage maintenance of employee job descriptions.
- Manage the preparation and revision of employee handbook and various forms essential to the communication process between the personnel office and the employees.
- Assist in the preparation of Board Personnel Agenda.
- Compile reports and prepare spreadsheets.
- Initiate and monitor tasks related to FMLA tracking.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Human Resources or related field preferred; or 5 years related experience in human resources and administrative support; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of day-to-day human resources processes; and ability to interpret and apply employment laws and board policies.
- Familiar with unemployment, benefits, employee verifications, workers’ compensation and Family
Medical Leave Act (FMLA) law and processes.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite; in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Internet capabilities: research and sourcing
- Experience supporting executive level staff in an education or nonprofit environment
- Experience in creating, editing and proofing correspondence and presentations
- Ability to impart a professional and cordial image in person and over the phone
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- Successful completion of Background Check by Human Resources
Physical Demands:
- Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects.
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet.
- Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups.
- Requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time.
- The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard free environment.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
