Summary
The School of Information (UMSI) is looking for an HR Assistant who will be a part of a dynamic school and be responsible for a variety of HR support activities. You will report to the Senior Human Resources Generalist and will help maintain a positive employee relations environment, ensuring prompt, efficient and professional responses to employee issues. Also, you generally will complete the below responsibilities under the guidance and direction of other HR personnel and management.

Responsibilities*
Responsible for processing, onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining all temporary appointments.
Maintain internal process documentation and best practices, updating as changes arise.
Provide administrative support for the HR team.
Provide support to annual staff awards activities.
Responsible for overall time reporting for UMSI temporary and staff employees.
Audit employee records on a quarterly basis for accuracy.
Take part in UMSI service, learning and professional development.
Required Qualifications*
Associates degree or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
Minimum of 2 years experience in an HR or administrative support role requiring confidentiality, customer service, organization, and prioritization
Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Demonstrated the ability to adapt to new technologies and practices
Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and professionally, with staff, faculty, and students
Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Work Schedule
Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required. May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.
Work Locations
May require travel to multiple locations on and off campus. Your main office work space is located in our North Quad building. You will have the option to be hybrid, observing UMSI Remote Work Policy and with supervisor approval. Remote work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change depending upon business needs.
