Enel North America intends to build one of the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing facilities in the US, expected to initially produce at least 3 GW and scale up to 6 GW of high-performance bifacial PV modules and cells annually. The proposed facility will be among the first in the United States to produce PV cells, the key building blocks that make up solar panels. The facility is expected to create up to 1,500 new clean energy jobs, while also supporting the creation of a domestic solar PV supply chain to accelerate the growth of US generated energy and add to the country's domestic solar cell and panel manufacturing capacity.
The Head of HSEQ of the 3Sun Gigafactory in the US is responsible to direct and manage the Health and Safety Environment Quality department. Their main responsibilities and mission include to implement initiatives/projects aimed at improving HSEQ performance, in compliance with HSEQ Global/Country guidelines, monitoring and facilitating compliance with local regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do at Enel::
Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:
- Actively participate in the planning, design and execution of Operations, Innovation, Quality Production, Sales and Marketing and Industrial Control activities, monitoring and promoting compliance with HSEQ requirements
- Implement the structuring of the HSE emergency plans (risk identification, assessment, mitigation, preparation, response and recovery phases) in the operational perimeter, in line with the Group Critical Event Management Policies, in conjunction with the HSE Emergency Management Unit of the Holding/Global/Country and in collaboration with the HSEQ Global/Italy units
- Monitor field-level performance and conditions, reporting relevant information and executing required corrective action plans
- Provide support during Quality Assurance and Quality Control related to local activities
- Provide support and participate during the permitting process for projects under development and construction and manage all issues within the operational, decommissioning and environmental remediation of assets, in accordance with HSEQ Global/Country guidelines
- to report relevant information on HSEQ topics, data and KPIs and to manage HSEQ training and education programs, liaising with relevant P&O units.
- medical surveillance and health improvement activities for the entire perimeter
- This position will manage direct reports and is responsible for performance management
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering or Technical engineering
- 10+ Years’ of experience in a safety manufacturing environment
- ASP/CSP certification or demonstrated evidence this can be obtained within 12 months of hire
- Auditor ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 37001; Auditor ISO 50001 (considered a plus)
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management
- Knowledge of clean room requirements
- Knowledge of legal and technical regulatory aspect of Health and Safety and methodologies for prevention and protection of risks
- A valid driver’s license operable in all 50 states and Canada and a clean driving record. A clean driving records means:
- In the last 3 years, no driving-related suspension, revocation or cancellation, no disqualifying offenses, no more than 2 moving violations and no reckless driving incidents
- In the last 5 years, no major driving offenses including DUI/DWI, refusal to test, leaving the scene, driving a commercial vehicle without a CDL, or at-fault fatal accident
- Superior organizational skills and detail oriented to ensure accuracy and quality
- Innovation and sustainable thinking
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work within a global framework and a matrix organization
- Ability in working within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
- Fluent in English is required, Spanish and/or Italian is considered a plus
- Up to 20% of domestic travel and 10% of international travel.
