Oceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products, primarily for the offshore energy industry. Geoscientists' primary duty will be to perform integrated engineering and geological investigations by combining geophysical, geological, and geotechnical data to develop a detailed understanding of site conditions as they relate to subsea engineering issues associated with offshore energy development.

ESSENTIAL

• For onshore work and during geophysical survey operations, perform side-scan sonar (SSS), subbottom profiler (SBP), multi-beam echo sounder (MBES) (including backscatter and water column data), and 2D/3D high-resolution seismic data QC and interpretation.
• Present detailed Geohazard Assessment Report on interpretations for clients in the telecommunications, education, and energy sectors.
• Coordinate and work with other industry professionals (Geoscientists, Engineers, archaeologists, etc…) during the life of a project.
• Able to work on strict reporting timelines and deadlines.
• Work within a team environment collecting high-resolution geophysical and geotechnical data, seabed soil and rock samples, and performing in situ testing using standard and novel marine coring and penetration tools.
• Perform quality assurance checks on all offshore geophysical data, geotechnical testing, and data processing, interpretation, and reporting.
• Understanding of geophysical survey technical operations

REQUIRED

• Four-year Undergraduate Degree in Geology, Geosciences, Geophysics, or a related field.
• Excellent writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills.
• A self-motivated individual who adapts quickly to today's virtual knowledge, self-disciplined with a work schedule remotely from home and/or another designated geographic area as needed.

DESIRED

• Master’s Degree in Geology, Geosciences, Geophysics, or a related field OR Undergraduate Degree with relevant experience.
• Familiarity or proficiency with software packages IHS Kingdom, SonarWiz, GlobalMapper, and ArcGIS is highly desirable.

This position is Hybrid - Remote and may require commuting to a designated office when needed. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business needs.

Working Conditions

This position is considered office work, which is characterized as follows.

• Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
• Work surface is stable (flat).
